So today is my very first true day of being a stay at home Mom. I am unemployed and it feel incredible. This is what I have wanted since I found out I was pregnant. But the way this all came about was less than ideal. I had always wanted to be in the non-profit world and wouldn't you know the one org I decided to work for ended up kicking me out on my ass for being a breeder in a gay world. GLAAD was a total disappointment on so many levels it was palpable, which is so sad for the movement and for the staff who remain there. I truly hope the wonderful people on the board who I had the great opportunity to meet will see what the leadership is doing to run that organization into the ground. Intentional or not it needs to be stopped so the real work can shine through.
As I sit here with Phillip on lap and look out the window to the city and it's sounds outside I wonder what's going to happen to us, how our future looks and what's in store for our little family. Juan and I will certainly be married in the coming year and our boy will continue to grow and amaze us. I can't even describe what I feel for them both. The two of them are now like my right and left hands. I can't function without them and that's so damn awesome to me. I have never been happier. Happy. Wow, how far I have come.
Since I will be home and will seriously risk Maury paternity test overload (seriously have you seen these things? They are TV at its best) I figured I need a project to keep my mind somewhat sharp and to keep the boredom away. Thus, a blog! Innane ramblings for no one to read! Genius!
So on the plate for today is figuring out inexpensive Christmas gifts I can make here at home, getting my documents ready for the visit with the lawyer, being a human pacifier, and taking a stab at how many botox treatments Kathy Lee has had. From the wrinkles in her aged neck it looks like about 20 or so though I am sure it's more than that. Preschool face with a nursing home neck.
See I need projects.
